Always Was A Word

Always was a word

 They often used

And although we never knew

Exactly what they meant

It tickled imaginations,

Mystical in a sense

If you’re familiar

With the ways of mystics,

Intertwined with a sensuality

That hinted of long nights

With little sleeping,

No, we never knew

What they were all about,

If they did or didn’t

If they would or wouldn’t

What they meant by always,

But I’ll always think of them

Every time I hear that word

Always.
