I was thinking about
Boycotting BP
When something said
To myself,
Why not boycott me?
Did I help create
BP, GM and the
Seemingly soulless
Conglomerates,
Or did they
Create me?
Whose greed is it
That is driving
Us to nowhere?
How many shoes
Can I wear at once,
How many houses
Can I live in at once,
How many cars
Can I drive at once?
Do I need a closet
Bigger than some
People’s homes,
Do I need more
Of the useless shit
The manufacturers
Keep spitting out?
Am I going to
Live my life
As a thinking, caring
Human being,
Or as a mindless,
Voracious consumer,
Wanting.
Wanting,
Wanting?
I was thinking about
Boycotting BP,
But I’ve decided
To boycott me.
