Busy

Saturday snuck in

With the rest of the days

Of the week,

Weeks that were

Getting slower and slower

As the months dragged on,

Oh clerks said they were busy,

But that’s the risk of doing figure

Eights, dusting, cleaning, polishing,

Re-arranging old displays to look new,

Not realizing that cash flow is king,

Perhaps not wanting to think about

The thing that pays the wages,

Busy is like government stats

So easy to paint the illusion

Of whatever the mind

Wants to see.
