Connections
It’s easy with a map,
Your finger tracing
From city to town
To city,
Past mountains and
And rivers and lakes,
Past sorrow and happiness
Funerals and weddings,
Lovers in lanes and
Meadows,
To places where your
Thoughts and eyes
Take you,
The mystic river
Meanders in a similar way,
And then some
Just think and they
Are there,
A nose in your navel,
A tongue
Reaching, stretching,
Straining
Like a traveller lost
In the desert.
