Did You See

Did you see?

See what,

The old man strolling by asked.

The strange boat,

The strangely dressed couple,

The lovely look of the lady

Who came ashore

To pick up the sailor’s scope

That wasn’t on the sand when I sat down!

He stopped for a second and smiled,

It’s only strange when you don’t

See what you see, he said,

And with a nod, continued on,

Down the shore.
