Felt Like Singing

He was wired differently,

Labelled special needs

And was banned from the mall

For who in the hell knows why,

I suppose that’s one of the

Problems with a high tech

Clicker society,

Keep clicking on through

Until one finds the world

As it should be,

Maybe it was his unabashed

Freedom that scared some,

Never concerned about his

Patched clothes, the hole

In his shoe, grabbing his

Thumb to break into a song

In the middle of the mall,

No, he didn’t have a voice,

But then how many of us do,

He sang because he felt

Like singing.
