Imagine The Craziness

Imagine the craziness

Carrying on a conversation

With two people hard of hearing,

Realizing they weren’t responding to

My I beg your pardons and were

Simply adding to what they

Had already said,

Answering their own questions,

Nodding their heads yes and no,

From flowers and double mouthed

Politicians to rain drops and arthritis,

The thought of sets of tulips

And wonderful women brought

Me to you and I softly started speaking,

About how some of your shots

Hinted of intimate exposure

That only your lover of the time

Would know the true disclosure,

How modern Ithaca was about to

Cap another virgin of the ancient symbol,

We smiled, we talked, we laughed

And before we knew it the mugs

Of hot coffee were cold and not empty,

As they wobbled away on walkers

With wheels both saying what

A nice man to talk to,

I wondered did you feel the hugs

That were real pull your breasts close

To a beating imagination.
