Just Asking

There’s another run

Forming outside,

You know, the free

Tee shirts, buttons,

Bottles of water,

Dogs dressed in

Human clothes,

Everyone with the

Best of intentions,

But do they ever

Wonder where the

Money goes,

Do they question

The numbers,

Think about results,

Or does the chance

For a picture in the paper

Make common sense

Irrelevant,

Like Haiti,

After all the money

Raised, pledged, promised,

Why are the people

Still living in tents and ditches,

Or was that last year

And the shirts long

Past  passé.
