Wondering
With the toughest drinking
And driving laws in Canada,
One wonders why BC still
Calls for X number of parking
Stalls at pubs and bars?
With prostitution being legal,
Why is it illegal to live off
Of the avails of prostitution?
Isn’t that like saying that it’s
Legal to be a surgeon, but
That it’s illegal to operate?
We know that smoking and
Second hand smoke are deadly
And costly to society, why
Do governments relish in
Collecting large amounts
Of taxes on these products,
Then suing the manufacturers
To recover health care costs?
Perhaps it should be illegal
For law makers to dream up
And pass laws, maybe they
Should be assigned to manage
The parking stalls at pubs and bars.
