Know Your Toes

Sometimes it’s seemingly exasperating,

Trying not to be controlling,

Being controlled,

You know how it is,

At every other turn

Someone wanting a piece of you

Or the money you don’t have,

Or perhaps do have,

Of course you would love

To help all good causes,

But then the definition of

Good has been stretched

And stretched,

Taxes on taxes for bureaucratic

And corporate bungling and stupidity,

More bombs, more fences, surveillance cameras,

Perhaps we should ask do you know your toes,

Learn to move each one independently

Before broadening your horizons.
