Mothers and older women

Seem to subconsciously best

Understand the affairs of men,

Sometimes.

Is it because

Of their personal witness

To the months of struggle

To get out - only to spend seeming

Lifetimes,

Trying to return,

Or does their understanding

Stem from the simple laws of north

And south - the law of magnetic attraction.
