Meandering

Is there any particular reason

Why strip clubs and court houses

Are so close together?

Like the old Globe Hotel in

Nanaimo and JJ’s Campbell River.

Why do so many bars and pubs

Have gas stations nearly next door?

I knew a lady once who liked to

Watch horror movies snuggled nude

In her fur coat, with popcorn

And pineapple juice and the

Odd root beer float. Some thought

It strange. She dusted high places

Painted low spots, didn’t make

Sense to many, but then I

Suppose it depended which

Side of the fence you were on.

Why are the best coffee shops

Small and out of the way with

No drive-thrus?  Better coffee,

Bigger cups, comfy chairs,

Music meant for meandering.
