Missed Connection

And he said,

Perhaps it was one

Of those times that many

Believe never really happens,

Two destined to meet but one comes

Too early and the other arrives too late,

And they dance on the ends of the years

That separate them divided by convention

And time, aware of each other, in love

With each other, quietly going about

Their lives and things as if they

Never knew.
