The NDM-1,
Sounds like a highway
A freeway,
In a way I suppose
It is,
A gene secreting
An enzyme through
Horizontal gene transfer,
Turning your everyday
Bacteria into a superbug,
I’ve never thought about
Bacteria getting it on,
Although under a microscope
They always remind me of
A human dance floor,
And hey, don’t you always
Feel like a super being after a
Horizontal gene transfer.
