On Occasion
At first I didn’t believe it,
Nobody could be that stupid,
But perhaps that is too strong
A word, maybe they were just
Reading the wind differently,
In any case stupidity still swirled
In the dust around the situation
And almost everyone wondered
What in the hell was going on,
Almost everyone that is, because
Everything has a partner or a bit
Of company in its absurdity,
I suppose in the scheme of things
It will all stir into the stew and
Who will ever know or care,
In any event it is more fun
To entertain thoughts of you
In your wild and wonderful ways,
Your sights and delights that
I have only seen at night when
You visit on occasion.
