Outside Looking In

I heard

Peter was arrested for

Bankruptcy fraud,

A hockey man posted

One million bail,

I remember back in

The crazy days

Peter and Nelson

Played handball for

Paintings, teams and things,

They flipped properties

As easily then

As they did a handball,

I on the outside looking in

Pursuing management contracts

In those wild days of Alex,

The self appointed mayor of

A city within a city,

Murray and his stocks

His ventures,

It was all fun to watch

Fun to read,

Old Fred was there

He could tell up close

And personal stories

Of dames and dudes and

Wild encounters,

We chatted about it  this morning,

Quietly,

For no one would believe

We were there,

Nothing has changed much,

Peter perhaps from fine hotels

To maybe cells and we’re still

On the outside looking in.
