Passion In A Drawer

A little past twenty-four

I put my pens and paper

In a drawer,

Headed off

Into what were

Called

Real jobs,

 I suppose that’s life,

To gain perspective

You must nibble

And be nibbled,

Now a little past

Sixty-four

I can truly say,

Follow your heart,

Follow your soul,

Don’t leave your passion

Deep in a drawer,

Don’t wait for

Sixty-four,

You may be gone

Long before.
