Rumours And Raspberries

In sunshine she

Wore her raincoat,

Rubber hat

Buttoned down,

In rain she

Wore her sundress,

Long hair to

The ground.

She lived next

To the graveyard,

It bordered

Her back lawn,

Rumours ran

She danced at night,

Nude t’ill

Nearly dawn.

As a boy I was

Bewildered,

But brave enough

To see,

And crept out

Many nights, for

Her raspberry tarts

And tea.
