Sad And Disgusting

They sat around laughing it up

Recalling their school days,

The time they put a firecracker

In a cigarette and gave it to a

Mentally challenged classmate,

A couple seemingly embarrassed

And uncomfortable with the

Recollection, excused themselves

And left, to whispered jeers and

Sneers of the rest of this self

Appointed in-crowd, still leaning

Against their school day lockers

As if they were God’s gift to the

Primate world, so much for

Maturing, evolving, hauling one’s

Sorry ass up a step along the path

To the realization that there is

Nothing positive about tearing

Someone else apart for your

Own pleasure, entertainment,

To make you feel better,

Their conversation moved

To social networking sites

Where they were doing the

Same to more people,

Sad and disgusting,

What else can

One say.
