Silently Sipping Tea

Inherently unconcerned

And uncommitted to toys

And things but still in love

With the thought of you,

Spoiled I suppose living

In this body that seems

To run on auto pilot

Always doing what it

Has to do,

Without me thinking

The breath keeps blowing

The heart keeps pumping

The blood keeps flowing,

Sensors tell me

When it’s hot or cold,

Pain or hunger, sleep

Or wake, and when I

Close my eyes everything

Comes into view,

Yes, I do see you,

Sometimes nearly naked

Silently sipping tea.
