Spring 2009

That’s the way is

The spring of 2009,

Layoffs and job shortages,

Economic depression

Regardless of what

So called experts

Prefer to call it,

We’re all to blame

For the brink, the edge

We find ourselves

Contemplating,

But isn’t it a bit

More than obscene

When the leaders and

Their cheerleaders

Who led us here

Will still be paid

Big bonuses,

For being, if not

Stupid, deceitful,

It makes you want

To swear but I will defer

To a Lady I once

Nearly knew who

Uses profanity

Like spices.

Some are waiting

Like the widow,

She’s so sad her

Husband didn’t live

To see the end

In 2012,

I personally think

That it may be

Another Y2K

Implosion,

And my friends

Way out in right

Tell me the Amero

Will be slipped over

Us like the night

For pennies on

 The dollar.
