Stuck

So I got stuck behind a garbage

Truck this morning,

The radio announcing that

The President was going to

Personally thank the assassins,

Radiation still leaking in Japan,

The economy is improving,

Crazy explanations and conspiracy

Theories that makes one wonder

What the fuck is really going on,

Sometimes the shit they feed us

Makes the truck I was stuck behind

Smell sweeter and sweeter and sweeter,

So I retreated to the study in my mind,

To the desk in the corner covered in

Files that I don’t have the heart to stick

In the drawers of things that once were,

Impossibilities, wishes and dreams,

I toy with the voice that I can’t peg,

The voice that stirs something I can’t put

My finger on and I wait for that flash of

Lightening that explodes into aha, but it

Doesn’t happen, the study secretary opens

The impossibility drawer and I say screw it,

Kick the drawer closed and have the file stuck

With a pin to the wall, leave the study

And oh shit, the garbage truck is still there.
