Sunday Stuff

It’s Sunday someone said

Write something sweet,

Something from this world

That we can understand.

Like the guy who went  to piss

Off his boat and fell overboard,

Boat and crew sped on without him,

They found him, hauled him out alive

And solved the riddle why so many

Bodies are pulled from the sea with

Zippers opened.

Like the young youth worker

Who stopped to give a Lady a ride

During a raging storm in Campbellton,

He spent the night in jail for attempted

Solicitation and a broken tail light,

He was cleared of solicitation

But not of tail light charges.

That’s right, that’s the Sunday stuff!

Well you write about it,

I’m toying with the rhyming

About a Lady a million miles away

Who has her fingers around my heart

And doesn’t realize she’s squeezing.
