Water’s
Edge
They came to the
Water’s edge
As timid as
Two thirsty
Wild deer,
They came to
Contemplate,
Consider,
To wonder
Out loud,
Perhaps a
Revelation,
Unforeseen
It pounced
Suddenly
Catching both
Of them
Unaware,
Tearing clothes,
Rolling them
Over and over
In the sand,
Leaving them
Naked in the
The shallow water,
Hearts pounding,
Gasping for air,
Wondering how
Emotion and passion
Could explode so
Wild and wonderful.
