Witch’s Warning

A witch stopped by

A lovely lady really

We always engaged

In friendly chatter,

What about the raven,

She asked, color changing

Slightly, the raven this morning,

She said, pointing an index finger

At me, there was one sitting on the

Line, I said, squawking somewhat loudly,

That’s not a good sign, she said, staring right

Through me, whatever deal or plan you are thinking

About don’t do it, be thankful the raven cared enough to

Warn you, what would happen I asked, suddenly concerned,

Don’t do it, she replied, making strange movements with her hands.
