You Can’t Spend Your Life

You can’t spend your life

Living in a tree house,

Eating hazelnuts and berries,

Contemplating sunrises

And sunsets

Thinking love and peace.

Why not?

Take my advice,

Life is not that way.

You’ll have to shoot

The squirrels and birds

Before they get your

Nuts and berries,

Get aggressive, go out

And get what you want.

But I have what I want.

There’s enough to go

Around if everyone shares.

You’re crazy,

Take my advice,

Life is not that way,

It’s every man for himself,

This is free enterprise

Democracy.
